Yakutat Moose Habitat Enhancement

Tongass National Forest Yakutat, Alaska Yakutat Ranger District

This project would improve browsing habitat for moose on the Yakutat Forelands. Moose habitat is declining as natural succession occurs. Vegetation would be cleared by hand crews and/or heavy machinery to allow for young nutritional growth.

Location

Multiple sites on the Yakutat Ranger District adjacent to trails and roads (Middle Dangerous Trail, Forest Highway 10, Lower Landing Road, and Cannon Beach Road)
