Crane Lake Trail Reconstruction

Tongass National Forest Wrangell-Petersburg, Alaska Petersburg Ranger District

Proposal to reconstruct a 0.3 mile section of the Crane Lake Trail. Work would include replacing existing boardwalk with a gravel trail that is at least 29 inches wide. Bridges and drainage structures along this stretch would be rebuilt as needed.

Location

Crane Lake Trail is on Mitkof Island, approx. 25 miles south of downtown Petersburg, accessed from Three Lakes Loop Road (NFS Rd 6235) off of Mitkof Hwy or by hiking Ideal Cove Trail from salt water.
