Tongass National Forest Wrangell-Petersburg, Alaska Petersburg Ranger District

Proposal to supply about 19 million board feet of young-growth timber from 800 acres, reconstruct temp rds, maintain NFS rds and evaluate potential terrestrial and/or aquatic habitat restoration and improvement activities in or near the project area.

Location

Thomas Bay is on the mainland, about 18 miles NE of Petersburg by boat, or 16 miles by plane. The project area is about 16,602 acres of NFS land and 1,500 acres of land of other ownership.
