Deer Mountain Outhouse Improvement

Tongass National Forest Ketchikan Gateway, Alaska Ketchikan Misty Fjords Ranger District

Replace and relocate existing outhouse by Deer Mountain Shelter. New outhouse would use removable containers that would be swapped out by helicopter when full. New design is expected to reduce the risk of spills and environmental contamination.

Location

Near the summit of Deer Mountain on Revillagigedo Island. Elevation is approximately 2,800 feet and about 2.75 miles from Deer Mt Trailhead off of Ketchikan Lake Road in Ketchikan, Alaska.
