Amalga Trail Reconstruction Sections 1 and 2

Tongass National Forest Juneau, Alaska Juneau Ranger District

Reconstruct and widen the first 1.45 miles of Amalga Trail using native gravel and imported aggregate and incorporate rest areas along the trail. Construct a 65- to 70- foot bridge across Boulder Creek.

Location

The Amalga trailhead is north of Juneau at mile 27 of the Glacier Highway, just west of the Eagle River Bridge. The trail is locally known as the Eagle Glacier Trail.
