Prince of Wales Outhouse Waste Management at 5 Public Use Cabins

Tongass National Forest Prince of Wales-Outer, Alaska Thorne Bay Ranger District

Manage outhouse contents at the Sarkar Lake, Red Bay Lake, Kegan Creek, Kegan Cove, and Control Lake public use cabins by pumping waste into new pits at least 100 feet from a water source. Pits would be reused in the future, if needed.

Location

Five public use cabin sites scattered across Prince of Wales Island in southeastern Alaska.
