The Montpelier Ranger District proposes to authorize a request from Direct Communications to issue a special use permit to install two 1.25-inch conduits along the north side of Highway 36/Mink Creek Road, from Liberty to Preston, Idaho.

The project proposes to install a wooden temporary fish barrier to remain in place for 2 - 3 years to aide in restoring native fish to Moody Creek.

The project proposes to install a catch corral to aide ranch permittees when wrangling cattle and prevent cattle from scattering to riparian areas.

The project proposes to permit Union Pacific to upgrade a tower and update the communications technology that services their network of trains.

The project proposes to restore approximately 2 stream miles of the lower portion of McCoy Creek by elevating riffles, stabilizing eroding banks, and creating floodplain benches to improve aquatic habitat including for Yellowstone cutthroat trout.

Toponce Road (Forest Service Road 375) regularly becomes damaged from the stream overflow which increases road maintenance needs and delivers sediment directly into the stream. The project intends to realign the road.

Construct a fifty mile, eight inch natural gas pipeline between Bear Lake County and Afton, Wyoming. Approximately 20 miles of this pipeline would be on Forest Service lands.

This proposal would authorize a 5-year special use permit to Caldera Snow Coach Tours to operate snow coach and cross-country ski tours on existing groomed snowmobile trails during the winter seasons.

The Forest Service is considering amending its land management plans to address new and evolving issues arising since implementing sage-grouse plans in 2015. This project is in cooperation with the USDI Bureau of Land Management.
