Six Rivers National Forest — Project Detail

This project will provide defensible space along main roads to expedite safe evacuations and improve wildland firefighter response, safety, and suppression during wildfires.

The Trinity Summit Restoration Project is a collaboration between the Six Rivers National Forest and the Hoopa Valley Tribe to reduce the risk of wildland fire to communities, restore ecosystems, and establish resilient landscapes.

Approximately 2 miles of new fiber conduit to be installed

This project will allow the Salyer Heights Water Company to reconstruct critical water supply infrastructure (water tank, raw water lines, and creek diversions) along Shaber Creek that were destroyed in the Campbell Fire.

Trinity Valley Consulting Engineers has requested to conduct a geo investigation for the OCSD water system upgrade. A soil investigation would be performed to aid in the planning and design of new water treatment, storage, and diversion system.

The 1,500 acre Rattail Project seeks to apply forest health and fuels reduction treatments, address a legacy sediment site, remove invasive species, mitigate hazards to values at risk, and develop 3.41 miles of temp roads.

Reduce hazardous trees and fuels/slash along moderate to high use roads while revegetating areas within the project footprint to enhance wildfire resiliency, and achieve long-term management goals including the restoration of biodiversity.

Reissuance of two PacifiCorp powerlines authorizations within the Smith River NRA that have expired. No changes are proposed for the new term.

The project is a renewal of the current road maintenance CE currently treating sections of road on the forest to keep them open, safe, and better able to withstand storm events with minimal damage. Project activities listed in the scoping packet.
