Install a new 30" x 32' 14 ga aluminized corrugated metal pipe at 34.297294; -87.308875 (Forest Service Road 244) during the dry season to improve road maintenance and reduce sediment load into the West for of Beech Creek.

Replace radio repeater tower at an existing administrative site.

Repair of auxiliary concrete spillway and metal debris rack to fix the internal erosion of soils beneath and beside the spillway that pose a major threat to the long-term viability and continued safe function of the spillway.

Mitigation of the effects of Southern pine beetle infestation.

PowerSouth has applied for a special use permit to install an overhead 115v power transmission line from their substation. The proposal is to widen the road right-of-way by 37 feet on the north side of Highway 186. Approximately 2.7 miles (12 acres).

Placement of buried (2) 1.50-inch duct containing 288ct fiber optic cable via plow and directional bore at a depth of 36 inches and a crossing at a depth of 48 inches with handhole placements.

Repair of an existing radio base station tower within the same footprint located at an administrative site (Office/Work Center compound)

The USDA Forest Service has proposed the thinning of approx. 10 acres of midstory vegetation to promote the presence of herbaceous plants in the understory and improve the quality of the available habitat for numerous species of interest.

Covington County Engineers Office requested a permit for the replacement of two (2) bridges with reinforced concrete/steel structures, and Covington Electric Coop has submitted an application to convert overhead powerlines to underground.

The Forest Service is proposing to use commercial sanitation cutting to remove the loblolly pine from these stands to control the SPB infestations and prevent them from moving into adjacent stands.

The proposal is to fell and remove hazardous trees killed by Southern Pine Beetle from the Wolfpen camping area as defined by the interior ~4 acres encircled by road as well as a one-tree buffer on the outside of the road.

Access to a private property inholding in Talladega County, Alabama

Approximately 5000 acres located south of highway 278 will be proposed for treatment to restore longleaf pine woodland habitat on suitable and manageable sites or conduct treatments that places stands on the path of longleaf restoration.

Thinning, restoration and hazardous fuel reduction activities are being proposed to mitigate the extent of the Southern Pine Beetle outbreak which began in the summer of 2023 and continued through 2024 on the Bankhead.

Building, maintaining, attending, or using a fire or campfire (including charcoal) outside of developed recreation areas. Fires at developed recreation areas must be confined to receptacles designed for fire.

The proposal is to implement a salvage timber sale to remove storm damaged timber on approximately 30 acres. The project purpose is to reduce heavy fuel build up, reduce safety hazards and facilitate restoration.
