Hoosier National Forest — Project Detail

Proposal to establish two adjacent public parking areas at the Hickey-Martin dam restoration site to accommodate one truck and horse trailer and one designed to accommodate 1-2 pull-in parking spaces.

This project proposes to treat vegetation and conduct related management activities improving forest health and sustainability of the oak-hickory ecosystems while also improving wildlife habitat.

Proposal to relocate the existing 3-phase overhead power line closer to Old State Road 37.

The Hoosier National Forest is proposing to replace seven undersized and/or perched culverts, and one stream ford crossing with aquatic organism passage (AOP) structures.

Proposal to install 600 feet of power line along CR 775 W to an existing trash collection site near Shirley Creek Horse Camp.

Proposal to amend the existing permit for new installation of approximately one mile of overhead fiber optic cable to existing utilities poles and approximately one mile of buried cable.

The Forest Service proposes to make improvements to Shirley Creek Campground by establishing up to 12 designated campsites, 1 day-use parking area for trail users, the widening of the existing road, and relocating 2 existing hydrants.
