Thin and regenerate red pine stands Forest-wide outside of wilderness, wild and scenic rivers, research natural areas, experimental forests and old growth to implement the Forest Plan.

The Forest proposes the installation of approximately 32.1 miles of new fiber optic cable along existing utility rights-of-way (ROWs) within Huron Manistee National Forest and an additional 0.54 miles of new ROW corridors.

FS lands in Otto-White River area have been heavily impacted from illegal offroading and extensive camping use. The road system would be managed by redesignating use, road closures, moving roads to a more sustainable route, and designating campsites.
