Superior National Forest — Project Detail

Based on the current management situation and the need to modernize Forest Plan direction, the Forest is proposing a Forest Plan Amendment of management direction for the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.

The project's main purpose is to move towards achieving Forest Plan vegetation objectives within the project area, especially for the landscape ecosystems (LE)

The Kawishiwi Ranger District proposes activities to move vegetation, transportation, recreation, and gravel resources toward desired conditions as described in the Forest Plan.

Keewaydin Resource, Inc. submitted Special Uses Permit (SUP) proposals seeking access over National Forest System (NFS) lands to conduct indirect geophysical exploration on three 2D lines. The 3D project is now cancelled.
