Xcel Energy plans 5 dry‑auger geotechnical borings along existing roads on USFS land to aid planning of the Rollins Pass Repair Project (a separate project from this). Work will stay within current road prisms, need no road improvements, use truck/tracked access, and occur over 5 days in fall 2026.
Location
The project is about 8 miles west-northwest of Rollinsville, CO. The drill sites occur on the road prisms of roads 501.1 and 149. T. 1 S., R. 74 W., secs. 21, 22, 27, & 28.
