The Manti-La Sal National Forest is proposing to use a landscape-scale prescribed fire approach to reduce the risk of uncharacteristic wildfires, increase resilience of existing vegetation groups, and improve ecological function in native vegetation communities and wildlife habitat.
Location
The spatial scope of the proposed prescribed fire treatments encompasses approximately 983,885 acres of National Forest System lands within the Manti-La Sal National Forest. These lands are distributed across all districts of the forest and occur in Carbon, Emery, Grand, Juab, San Juan, Sanpete, Sevier and Utah counties.
