Wheeler Gorge Campground Aquatic Organism Passage and Stream Restoration Project

Los Padres National Forest Ventura, California Ojai Ranger District

This project will bolster campground crossing safety and provide aquatic organism passage by adding two bridges. During high flows four concrete crossings within the campground are dangerous for pedestrians and vehicles due to their smooth surfaces.

Location

The Wheeler Gorge Campground is found north of the town of Meiners Oaks along the Maricopa Highway (Hwy 33) in Ventura County; Lat- 34.513196 N, Long -119.27337 W
