Chestnut Mountain Forest Health and Restoration Project

Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest Gordon; Whitfield, Georgia Conasauga Ranger District

The primary objective of this project is to restore and maintain native forest communities, reduce stand density in pine and pine-oak stands to improve forest health, expand prescribed fire use, and enhance terrestrial and aquatic habitat diversity.

Location

Chestnut Mountain is located in Gordon and Whitfield Counties west of Resaca.
