Chippewa National Forest Rock Solid Gravel Pits Project

The purpose of this Environmental Assessment is to evaluate the potential environmental effects of developing, expanding, managing, and closing of select gravel pits within the Chippewa National Forest.

Location

The Rock Solid project area is located on the Chippewa National Forest, with a primary focus on the Walker and Deer River Ranger Districts. Portions of the project area fall within the boundaries of the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe (LLBO) Reservation. Of the eight proposed gravel pits, three are located within areas that include lands inside the LLBO Reservation boundary.
