The Tonto National Forest is preparing an environmental impact statement(EIS) to disclosure the environmental effects from: 1) a mining proposal submitted by Resolution Copper; 2)the exchange of land between Resolution Copper and United States.

Project would close identified abandoned mine features by blocking the openings using various methods including warning signs, fences, sealed mine openings with bat gates, expanding foam, or backfill.

Grazing fuel break to reduce hazardous fuel loading threating the Roosevelt Lake Estates and the Windy Hill Campground. Some cut and pile with and burning of 35 acres will be included.

Manipulation of vegetation directly adjacent to private land holdings on approximately 540 acres through the creation of a fuel break up to 200 feet wide

Project will decommission Jones Water Campground and reduce maintenance backlog by removing deteriorating infrastructure within it.

Project will construct approximately 3.3 miles of non-motorized multi-use trail with directional signs for equestrians, mountain bikers, and hikers, and will decommission 3.1 miles of unsustainable and undesirable low-use trail in our current system

Construction of a fiber optic communication line within the existing authorized 345-kV dual tower parallel-line ROW that crosses approximately 91 miles of the Tonto NF and Apache-Sitgreaves NF

The purpose of the project is to reduce hazardous fuels along the highway by using high-intensity, short-duration livestock grazing (targeted grazing) to remove and trample dense vegetation before it becomes a fire hazard.

Project will repair and realign the 1.9 mile segment of FSR 2670 across National Forest System land to improve road function and provide for safe travel for the public and private land users.

Authorize an increase in the size and use of the recreation residence Lot 3 in a manner that supports the Forest Service mission, meets demonstrated public needs, and is consistent with the desired conditions for the use area.

Project would adopt two connecting user-created routes in the Forest Service non-motorized trail system.

This project would add two new water sources to the Dos S Unit of the Sunflower allotment to distribute livestock over a larger portion of two pastures.

The comprehensive plan will establish the administrative objectives, policies, processes, and management guidelines necessary to fulfill the legislative requirements for national scenic trails under the National Trails System Act.

Installation of erosion control structures to mitigate erosion, increase water infiltration into the soil, and retain sediment to which would promote herbaceous plant production.

Re-establish patches of ponderosa pine trees within the project area to encourage recovery of native vegetation and improve Mexican spotted owl habitat.

Project would use prescribed fire, wildfire, and mechanical vegetation treatments across a total of 80,437 on the Globe Ranger District in collaboration with the San Carlos Apache Tribe who is treating adjacent tribal lands.

The goal would be to protect Sonoran Desert vegetation by reducing herbaceous annual vegetation along highway 188 so that any fire starts does not spread.

The Maverick RX project will reduce hazardous fuel loading thereby improving habitat for wildlife and grazing.

The purpose of this project is to approve the installation of fiber optic broadband infrastructure to the Roosevelt Lake Marina.

This project will connect Water Users spring and pipeline system to the Two Prong pipeline system.

Construction of ADA approved ramp for lake access, including paved trail from the existing parking, building beach front at the water, putting pilings into lakebed for floating dock, and blocking boat access to the inlet.

Project would use prescribed fire, wildfire, and/or mechanical vegetation treatment across a total area of approximately 115,684 acres of the Globe Ranger District in coordination with San Carlos Apache Tribe who is treating adjacent tribal lands.
