Planned creation of a year-round multi-use recreation facility on the crest of the Sierras at Donner Summit.

To provide a low-impact and novel recreation opportunity for non-motorized users, connecting the west slope to the east slope of the Sierra Nevada at Donner Summit.

Implement a combination of treatments to construct fuel breaks and remove hazard trees across approximately 3,000 acres of NFS lands along 35 miles of roads throughout the YRRD to mitigate the risk of wildfire to protect nearby communities.

Install or affix to existing structures two fire detection cameras and associated solar panels and batteries. Includes installation of four concrete anchors.

Installation of underground fiber optic cable to be buried under the pavement within the Highway 89 Right of Way Corridor through Special Use Permit.

This project would implement a combination of treatments to construct fuel breaks and remove hazard trees across 3,000 acres of NFS lands along 50 miles of roads throughout the YRRD to mitigate the risk of wildfire to protect nearby communities.

Protect water resources in Stampede reservoir, improve the health and sustainability of forest stands and restore meadow ecosystems.

Tahoe National Forest has accepted a Special Use Permit (SUP) application from the County of Placer, to improve the existing Lower Sawtooth Trailhead recreation site, and to manage the site for year-round recreational use for an initial period of 10

Issue a temporary construction permit for well site #1 and associated conduit and pipe connecting the well to existing facilities.

Reroute 3 trail segments on Loops 5 and 6. Perform trail maintenance.

Combination of fuels reduction treatments approximately 440 acres of TNF land to establish contiguous fuel breaks in an area of strategic importance to control potential future wildfires.

Replacement of a radio system vault on the Ruby Bluff within the same footprint.

Replacement of septic system and new leach field installation within the Carvin Creek Summer Tract homes.

TNF has accepted a SUP from the CDFW to install, operate, maintain and manage 3 Rotary Screw Traps (RSTs) to conduct pilot studies regarding Central Valley spring-run Chinook Salmon.

The project proposes to construct one permanent holding pen. The holding pen will be constructed of fence posts and panels and measure approximately 0.5 acre in size.

Construction of a new underground electrical line measuring 99 feet long, 1 foot wide, 2 feet deep to install conduit and wiring to provide reliable, safe drinking water to the cabins at the Carvin Creek Summer Home Tract.

Removal of trees within the existing parking area footprint to improve current snow storage area and and create new snow storage space.

Amend the Tahoe Forest Plan to expand opportunities for the Forest Service to manage naturally-ignited (lightning-caused) wildfire under carefully prescribed conditions to achieve resource benefits and reduce fire risk.

The Project would allow goat grazing on approximately 2100 acres located in the Wa She Shu Creek-Truckee River, Martis Creek and Trout Creek-Truckee River watersheds near the Truckee community.

Cut and remove dead and dying trees caused by the Mosquito Fire of 2022. Salvage on approximately 158 acres.

The project proposes development of a multi-use native surface trail system connecting Nevada City, CA to Truckee, CA. The system would be approximately 68 miles in length and would include existing Forest Service trails and new trail construction.

Fuels reduction and thinning proposed on national forest system lands Near Highway 89 in the communities of Alpine Meadows and Olympic Valley

Reroute approximately 1/2 mile of existing trail and restore approximately 400 feet of chronically flooded sections of trail impacted by motor vehicle use

The Forest Service proposes to conduct vegetation treatments, fuels reduction, watershed improvements and road management treatments on approximately 5,195 acres of the Sierraville Ranger District, Tahoe National Forest.

Special Use Permit to mitigate snow avalanche hazards to Union Pacific Railroad. Company to use an avalauncher, pipe method, and hand-placed explosives to trigger controlled avalanches in the Cisco Buttes area of avalanche vulnerability.

Fuel treatment and meadow restoration activities to provide adequate long-term community protection from future wildfires.

Issuance of a special use permit to allow access to private property via a driveway across forest service land.

Sugar Bowl Corporation has proposed to improve an area in the ski boundary located at the top of the Vanderbilt Trail (ski run). The project would allow Sugar Bowl to create a contiguous competition speed venue.

Reduce vegetative fuels and hazards, improve wildlife habitat and improve forest health and resilience.

The project is located within an approx. 60-acre meadow that drains into the northeast arm of Stampede Reservoir. The project will utilize natural features within the meadow system to spread flows and restore habitat.

New concrete pad and generator need within existing lease site. A new power conduit will run underground from the generator to a new automatic transfer switch that will be mounted to the exterior of the existing equipment shelter.

Mechanical thinning and fuels reduction on approximately 1,252 acres of National Forest land adjacent to the community of Greene Acres in Sierra County, California.

The Project aims to rehabilitate the hydrologic regime within the 485 acre meadow and improve year round recreational access to the meadow.

The Project aims to mitigate the potential for high severity fire within the WUI while maintaining habitat and ecosystem services through a series of actions that address forest restoration, fuels reduction, habitat enhancement and roads management.

The Tahoe National Forest (TNF) proposes to accept a 982 land donation at Perazzo Meadow from the Truckee Donner Land Trust and amend the TNF Land and Resource Management Plan with a conservation goal and standard for these lands.

A new well and water tank will be constructed off Forest Road 96-79. The water line will tie-in at French Meadows Campground and Boat Launch. Remove existing well infrastructure. Install a new communication facility.

Close and lock year-round the gate on the Duncan Creek Diversion Intake Road at the north end of the bridge over Duncan Creek. A 1,000-foot section of the Intake Road would not be open to public motorized wheeled vehicle use. Remove from MVUM.

Proposal for a one-year Special Use Permit (SUP) to acquire data that would inform the design and development of a long-term approach to avalanche mitigation in order to help protect Union Pacific employees and railroad infrastructure.

The Alder Creek 89 Wildland Urban Interface Project will reduce hazardous fuels accumulation and restore forests around the Town of Truckee and the highway 89 Corridor in order to create defensible space around this busy community.

Construct a new trailhead and staging area, construct new mountain bike trails, and make modifications to the existing Hoot Trail in the Lone Grave area south of State Route 20/Forest Service Road 20-02 in Nevada County, California.

Cuckoo is an approximately 4,500-acre vegetation management and fuels reduction project including thinning, mastication, prescribed fire, etc. The proposal also includes road maintenance, hazard tree removal and decommissioning unauthorized roads.

Group training (approx. 15 people; Dec. 4, 2021 and Jan. 8, 2022) in the Castle Peak Area to practice techniques for traveling across snow and ice, setting up rescue system(s), using Sked stretcher, lightweight systems, and emergency shelters.

Construct ~3 mile pedestrian trail in Independence Lake Basin near upstream confluence with Independence Creek to replace user-created route in sensitive fish habitat. Would be constructed to meet NFS standards and would be non-motorized use only.

Replacement of 24-inch sewer line with 36-inch sewer line on existing Truckee River Interceptor alignment. Objective to increase line capacity to avoid system overload.

Construct a temporary road and staging area to facilitate work on Duncan Diversion Dam outside of FERC boundary. Total footprint 0.19 acres.

The project involves reliability improvements and consolidation of the parallel Drum Rio Oso #1 and #2 115kV electric transmission lines. Electric conductor and support structures will be replaced.

Pave existing dirt parking area to decrease erosion and improve watershed quality.

Amending Sugar Bowl Ski Area Permit to provide for snow play within the permitted ski area boundary.

The trails community and the Truckee Ranger District would like to re-establish and enhance the trail system in the Sawtooth Area impacted by the Big Jack East Vegetation Project, minimizing impacts to adjoining resources and neighborhoods.

The project proposes (OHV) and Watershed Improvement management actions on National Forest System lands including changes to the NFTS, realignment, decommission and restoration of routes, construction of motorized trail, and staging area creation.

Forest Service is a cooperating agency with FERC to prepare the environmental analysis for this project. Forest Service proposal is to issue an SUP to PG&E for the use and improvement of the following FS roads: 85, 85-2, and 85-2-1.

Fuels reduction, forest health improvement, and transportation system improvement actions on approx. 15,473 acres in western Sierra County and eastern Yuba County.

Mitigate avalanches occurring along the Union Pacific Railroad. Use exploratory blasting to identify trigger points to release avalanches for railroad safety.

AT&T proposes to install underground fiber optic cable within the road right of ways for highways 49 and 89 for approximately 18.67 miles between Satley and Sierra City. The project would improve broadband communications service in the area.

The Truckee RD developed the Proposed Action through collaboration in winter and spring of 2019. It would treat up to 3,000 acres east of Stampede Reservoir using forest thinning and biomass removal, mastication, and prescribed burning.

Construct up to 18 ponds on NFS lands for California red-legged frog habitat.

Reduce vegetative fuels and hazard, improve wildlife habitat and improve forest health and resilience. Thin trees, remove conifers around meadows and aspens, reduce fuels, create fuel breaks, remove hazard trees, improve aquatic organism passage.

Reduce the threat of wildfire through fuel reduction treatments of 1,582 acres across two National Forest parcels.

Objectives are to provide access to Beckwourth Peak area and to provide alternative recreation activities to relieve congestion in heavily-used areas. Propose construction of approximately 20 miles of non-motorized trails around Beckwourth Peak.

Manual & mechanical treatment up to 12" dbh to remove ladder and surface fuels over 318 acres in WUI. Grapple pile, pile burn, and underburn surface fuels.

Town of Truckee manages Legacy Trail within its jurisdiction and is proposing trail extension to join Phase 3B in east to Mousehole Project in northwest. 1100 feet of trail, river bridge, part of paved parking area proposed for USFS land under SUP.

Implement mastication and prescribed fire on 1,792 acres, thin conifers on 925 acres, create roadside fuel breaks on 4.3 miles of roads and remove hazard trees on 13 miles of roads to reduce fuels and improve forest health and resilience.

Vegetation treatments to reduce the extent and risk of insect infestations, as well as to reduce the negative effects of those infestations on forest health and resilience, are proposed on 3,000 acres of National Forest System (NFS) lands

Proposed actions include re-routing identified problem trail segments (including decommissioning the replaced trail segments), adding some bridges where motorized trails cross some streams, and constructing new motorized trails.

Restore the wetlands & streams by modifying discharge conditions created by adjacent water control structures. Includes augmenting instream wood and riffle placement, increase access to floodplain and remnant channels. Restore temporary impacts.

Treat appx 206 ac in Randolph WUI. Apply prescribed fire, mastication, grapple piling, mechanical and hand thinning generally with 12" dbh limit to reduce fire hazard, increase fire suppression effectiveness, and improve stand structure and vigor.

Since construction in 1984, use of Little Truckee Summit parking area has grown. Need to double capacity by adding 40 vehicle with trailer spaces, 200' access road and restroom facility to improve user safety and meet current recreational use.

Treat approx 2059 ac in WUI Defense and Threat zones to improve defensibility, resiliency and meet WUI standards. In threat zone include heterogeneity treatments. Pile burning, underburning as possible throughout.

Re-route 4 existing motorized trails (Rattlesnake/Downie River, Lavezzola, Pauley Creek, & Big Boulder Trails). Construct a 0.15-mile connector motorized trail. Decommission and restore 3 unauthorized routes (Sisson Mine, Hawley Mdw, & Butcher Ranch)

Approve continued operation, maintenance and use of existing distribution and transmission powerlines and infrastructure for Pacific Gas and Electric located within designated corridors on the Tahoe National Forest.

Reissue 10 year SUP to Alpine Stables to conduct horseback riding excursions, pack in supplies to hunter's camps, and maintain a stable. Construct trail realignment over 0.25 mile to avoid sensitive resources.

Improve forest health, watershed health, and wildlife habitat, to reduce the risk of uncharacteristic, high-severity wildfire, and allow the reintroduction of low- and moderate-severity wildland fire.

Commercial & precommercial thinning, aspen & meadow restoration, fuels reduction, Rx burning, trails construction

Sierra Tahoe Series proposed development of 18 hole disc golf area adjacent to the Logger campground in Stampede Recreation Area. A Special Use Permit and associated operating plan would be authorized to establish and maintain course over 5 years.

Provide recreation opportunities under three five-year special use permits under four annual events: Western States Endurance Run, Tevis Cup, Western States Training Run, and Canyons Endurance Runs.

Accept, from PG&E, donation of 1 parcel of land near White Rock Lake totaling approximately 78 acres. Amend LRMP to recognize the lands are being donated to provide permanent protection of the natural resources.

Construct non-motorized trail from existing Sawtooth Loop Trail to Watson Lake Trail/Tahoe Rim Trail as non-motorized multiple use trail, designed and managed for mountain bike use. The trail length on NFS land aprox 6.6 mi.

Construct new trail from Forest City area to the Downie River Trail near Goodyears Bar, Ca.

Thin, prune, burn, masticate on 138 ac. to to reduce fuel loading near private land. Stand of a dense lodgepole pine with beetle kill throughout. Purpose to prevent further beetle outbreaks, provide better defensible space adjacent to private.

The Tahoe National Forest is working to replace expired Special Use Permits with new permits for a variety of existing land uses Forest-wide.

Fuels Reduction thru various methods to enhance public and firefighter safety in and around the Deer Creek area of western Nevada County

Construct new trail links to reduce accident risk by OHVs, etc. Will provide additional miles of single track trails to enhance current use of area.

To determine if the existing condition is meeting or heading towards the desired condition in the Forest Plan, if it is not, to analize management practices that will move the allotment towards desired condition through the interdisciplinary process.

The project includes the following changes to the MVUM: Remove fixed season of use restrictions on apprx. 73 miles of roads and 45 miles of trails, close apprx. 8 miles of dead end and disconnected road segments.

Mechanical and hand treatment w/ 12 inch dbh limit on approx. 467 ac. in WUI and follow-up prescribed burns for timber stand improvement to reduce fire hazard, increase fire suppression effectiveness, and improve stand vigor and structure.

The Forest Service is proposing to take action to manage overcrowded forest stands and reduce hazardous fuels along the Mosquito Ridge Road near the Placer County Big Trees Grove. Approximately 2,500 acres of treatments are planned at this time.

Sustain/restore western white pine; implement variable/radial thinning; reduce legacy road & bridge impacts to riparian areas; enhance riparian areas & aspen; reduce fuels and facilitate maturity in plantations. Treat ~700 acres; 5 watershed actions

Approval of Plan of Operations for surface development and underground mining of mining claims in and around the Eagle Bird Mine.

Repair and replace power line poles, manage vegetation within the right-of-way and repair existing access route.

Dry Creek Forest Ecological and Watershed Restoration.

Vegetation treatments are proposed on approx. 750 acres to improve forest health, reduce wildfire risk, and improve wildlife habitat in natural conifer stands and existing plantations.

Project activities include decommissioning approximately 1.5 miles of road and restoring other OHV related damage in the area.

Four range improvements (3 fences and 1 small corral) are proposed to improve range management on the Mosquito Allotment.

Project proposes vegetation management on approx. 851 acres to improve forest health, reduce wildfire risk, and improve wildlife habitat using commericial thinning in approx. 55-year-old natural conifer stands (181 acres) and plantations (670 acres)

Issuance of a new Master Special Use Permit to replace expired authorizations for approximately 80 miles of aerial telephone cable and 80 miles of underground telephone cable.

Proposes to hand treat fuels and improve stand conditions on 20 acres of National Forest System lands near structures located along Soda Springs Road. Treatments would include hand thinning, pruning, piling and burning.

Implement fish and wildlife habitat improvement features using native materials (trees and boulders) in the Little Truckee River (LTR) between Stampede and Boca Reservoirs. The project would not impede conveyence of the LTR.

300 participants would run up to 4 4x4 events from staging area at Pierce OHV Camping Area to Meadow Lake, and one run on Bear Valley OHV Loop Trail near the Little Truckee Summit Staging Area. Event over four days with base camp at/near Meadow Lake

Obliterate/restore approx 10 mi. of non-system unauthorized routes in the Boca Reservoir and Dry Creek areas. Block with boulders or arrier, break up compaction. Provide drainage, place debris in road, seed, mulch, recontour as needed.

Post-fire salvage of dead and dying trees, hazard tree falling and/or removal, and reforestation.

Re-authorization of special use permits for existing electric transmission and distribution lines that have expired permits.

Re-authorize permit for existing grazing allotment.

Analyze relocating the PCT in the Packer Saddle area and improve facilities at Packsaddle Campground to enhance user experience and reduce conflict.

Hand Cut, Hand Pile, Burn Piles; and Mastication in 5 Mile/Madrone Springs area of western Nevada County

Improve forest health, watershed health and wildlife habitat, and reduce surface fuel loadings and ladder fuels to a level that would allow safe fire suppression

Collaboratively planned fuels reduction/forest resiliency/habitat improvement project in the Sagehen Basin (Sagehen Experimental Forest and Truckee Ranger District). Activities and methods for vegetation/fuels management and ecological restoration.

To complete DFPZ, treat plantations and restore riparian veg: mech thin 876 ac, hand thin 55 ac, meadow restoration w/ lodgepole removal 59 ac, aspen rest. 26 ac, grp slct 17 ac, plantation trtment w/ masticatn & grapplng 432 ac. Prescribed burning.

The Forest Service was a cooperating agency, assisting the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in that Agency's geothermal leasing analysis and decision. The BLM issued a record of decision on 12/17/2008.

Rehabilitate eroding cutbank of the Upper Independence Creek by removing non-functional fish weir and re-countouring stream banks. Install cutbank toe reinforcement with log revetment structures, and re-vegetate area. Rehabilitation area < 1 ac.

Defensible Fuel Profile Zone & concentrated fuel treatments, hand & mechanical thinning & group selection. Localized watershed restoration, meadow, aspen and oak restoration treatments. Project treatment area ~4,500 acs, mainly stewardship contracts.

The Tahoe National Forest will designate a system of National Forest System roads, National Forest Sysytem trails, and areas on National Forest System lands for motor vehicle use, including vehicle class and season of use.

Thinning and fuels treatments to reduce hazardous fuels and improve forest stand resiliency to severe wildfire, drought, insect, and disease effects.

To improve stand condition & habitat by hand thinning 12 ac & mechanical thinning 15 ac, by restoring 2.27 ac of aspen, & creating 8.55 ac of openings. To restore the hydrological function & reduce erosion on 0.25 mile of a tributary to Dry Cr.
