This project will establish a new generation of Fremont Cottonwoods along Sonoita Creek while protecting and enhance watershed health and riparian habitat value through invasive plant control and regeneration of a broad suite of native plant species.

The East Galiuros Habitat Enhancement Project will consist of under-story thinning of encroaching junipers and other vegetation to benefit native oak species, including Emory Oak and preferred winter browse species for deer.

The Steward Observatory Radar Base Dormitory is a two-story CMU-constructed building which is to be demolished and removed. The structure has been unoccupied, unmaintained, and is believed to contain asbestos and lead.

In 2018, a 1.6-mile section of National Forest System Road (NFSR) 4757 in Scotia Canyon was administratively decommissioned by the Forest Service. We now propose to physically decommission and completely remove and recontour this segment.

Due to major erosion, approx. 0.11 miles of NFSR 345 needs to be realigned between 1-10 feet from the existing road matrix. Gabion baskets or metal netting would be added to the eroded (NW) side of the road to avoid further damage to the road matrix.

Three outdated septic systems at Catalina State Park need to be replaced per ADEQ requirement to update all septic systems. Existing septic tanks will be removed, new tanks and lines will be installed in previously disturbed areas.

UES plans to replace 24 structures on the distribution line with heavy-duty wood poles. New structures will be 40 feet tall, buried 6 feet below the surface for a total height of 34 feet above ground level, and are approximately 1.5 feet in diameter.

The proposed trailhead at Oak Tree Canyon, off of Highway 83, provides access to the Arizona National Scenic Trail. It will include grading of a previously disturbed area and installation of a perimeter fence.

The Coronado National Forest proposes to physically decommission 433.5 miles of roads which have been decommissioned administratively in prior Decisions under the 2005 Travel Management Rule.

Arizona Geological Survey proposes to pair existing (5 sites) or new (5 sites) recording tipping bucket rain gauges with time-lapse cameras at ten (10) sites that are co-located with existing plots from two studies that are currently underway.

The purpose of this project is to reduce soil erosion on 800 feet of the Old Baldy Trail using a mini-excavator. Since this causing erosion toward the Super Trail, this effort include reducing erosion between the trail heads.

Deploy anti-aggregation pheromones to mitigate tree mortality following the Bighorn Fire. Project area includes 600 acres of Mexican spotted owl habitat that burned at low to moderate intensity, and 427 acres within recreation areas on Mount Lemmon.

Drilling of a well south of the Huachuca Mountain Range to provide a dependable water resource for both livestock and wildlife in the area of the San Rafael Valley.

The Forest has accepted a proposal from the Arizona Church of Christ Bible Camp (Camp) to continue operation of an existing organizational camp on the Safford Ranger District.

Implement repairs to portions of a damaged 150-foot stream section to prevent headcut formation. Stream section goes through organic wetland soils with dense vegetative mat. Cut and remove displaced pipeline that is obstructing stream flow.

The renovation of Duncan Well and 80 Tank requires the installation of a liner and geo-textile fabric within the existing basin of these stockponds. To install the liner, a trackhoe will shape the basin and prepare the bed for a new liner.

Two part extension project to expand the existing Perimeter Trail #138 which currently connects Carr Canyon to Miller Canyon. Part 1: Trail extended from Miller Canyon to Hunter canyon. Part 2: Trail extended from Carr Canyon to Ramsey Canyon.

Relocate a section of the Mesa Pipeline that runs between the Steel Rim and Peach Tree tank. Extend the Lower French Gap pipeline from Lower French Gap storage up Forest Service Road 6608J to the French Gap Corrals.

The project proposes to install sediment retention and/or erosion control structures in sub-watersheds (drainages and their associated uplands) that feed water to larger creeks and canyons of the Santa Catalina EMA, excluding private inholdings.

A new research request from a Benjamin Wilder for a 2-year permit. The research conducted will be assessing fire risk at the Sonoran desert grassland and wildland urban interfaces. This work will be conducted in wilderness with no ground disturbance.
